Vefsn municipality is a medium-sized municipality in Norway with about 13,500 inhabitants. The municipality has over 1000 man-years spread over 1300 people. The municipality provides services at the municipal level with special emphasis on growing up with school and kindergarten and care services. In this project, at least 100 professionals and about 1000 young people will be involved in the project to a greater or lesser degree. A core of about 10 decision-makers, 20 employees and 20 young people will be closely linked to the project.
Vefsn municipality has a very good involvement work and a pioneering municipality with many projects within the theme of participation and services for young people. The municipality was one of 4 finalists in the nomination of this year’s youth municipality. The municipalities also have good experience with project work with real results. Examples of this are strategic partnerships, projects in substance abuse and psychiatry and LOS work, where you have real results that are continued in daily operations. We have professionals, young people and decision-makers with good competence in project work, youth work, knowledge of and access to decision-making processes.
